A Big week of Firsts

This last week was a big one in the Tillotson household. Mostly for Kenzie...well, all for Kenzie, but also for Mom & Dad who watched from the side lines. Kenzie had her first 'real' dance class AND her first day of Pre-School. I looked at several dance studios & decided to go with the most 'classic' ballet studio 'Etudes de Ballet' that offered a 30 minute pre-ballet with 10 min.s of tap at the end. The teacher is a doll, and being a dance teacher myself I was so impressed with the other 3 yr. olds in the class. They were all so well-behaved!! I knew Kenzie loved every second of it because she never stopped smiling--which made ME smile.

You can spot her on the far left.

They have the most beautiful studios & this adorable little barre. Kenzie's 3rd from the left. There was a really funny moment at the barre that she decided the 'dig for gold', as we call it in our house, aka pick her nose, which she did for a good 2 mortifying minutes and in my head I was thinking 'don't eat it, please don't eat it'...she decided to wipe it on her leotard.

For Pre-school, we decided to go with a Mon, Wed, Fri, 9-noon class (that means I get 9 hours a week with just Alyssa to actually get stuff done!) & it seems to be a good fit for her. She was so excited for her first day that she got dressed all by herself (it typically takes some coercing) and came into our room at 7am beaming and so excited. Then she put her backpack on & refused to take it off for the next 2 hours before pre-school started.

I can't believe how grown up she is! Love you and miss you and thinking about you lots! Our primary program is next week and it makes me wish we were in the same ward. Send my love to your family!

In that first pic it looks like she has a headless teacher...YIKES! :) She is such a cutie!! She does look very happy - she likes being independant & feeling like a "Big girl". I'm so happy that you guys are able to get her so involved! That's cool that you'll have time alone with Alyssa too! Miss you & wish I could kiss those big cheeks of both the girls! Love you!

Oh those dance pics are adorable! If you don't mind me asking how much does it cost? I would LOVE to get my daughter in a class? You can email me at cordiet@gmail.com

YAY! I'm so glad you found a good ballet studio! Madelyn just started lessons, too. She totally loves it.

I can't believe you're primary president!! My cousin who lives out in Florida is only in her mid-20's and also just got called. I would be completely overwhelmed. Good luck with that!

Little Alyssa is a doll! I'm glad I'm not the only one whose baby trashes the house every time you turn your back. :)

cute- I took ballet, tap and jazz too. If anything it teaches structure and grace. I'm sure she'll have fun but you will probably enjoy it more watching her.
